This gorgeous, illustration captures a pair of Laughing Kookaburras perched on the branch of a Eucalyptus tree. Instantly recognisable by its plumage and voice, they pair for life. They feed mostly on insects, worms and crustaceans, but sometimes eat small snakes, mammals and frogs.
Hand drawn using waterproof pigment liners, then select areas are hand painted with watercolour. Coloured pencil helps to define and give more detail to each piece. Sections are intentionally left with no colour, to add a modern, design element. White gouache is used for feather and eye highlights. High quality, 300gsm watercolour paper. Sprayed with permanent matt finish to protect the artwork.
